Item Description
1.75” reading “For Governor Theodore Roosevelt.” Many examples of this button have a hole in the bottom rim edge where a loop once held a rabbit’s foot. This example does not have the rim hole. Button is complete with its backpaper naming W&H in tiny text with name of apparent button jobber “National Equipment Co.” in larger text. In addition, curl of the button reads “Copyrighted 1898 By Rockwood/The Whitehead & Hoag Co., Newark, N.J.” This is a superb example with extremely high gloss celluloid surface. At the lower right alongside the flag are 5 virtual pinpoint exceedingly faint dots of age but hardly discernable. We’ve seen very few examples whose condition exceed this.
