2.25” litho. At the left, a metal tab attaches to the button a lithographed tin donkey whose body can be pulled up and down by moving a small black string attached at his nose. The movement provides the effect of the donkey kicking the elephant in the rear end. Some of these were discovered years ago with smoke damage suffered in a warehouse fire but this example shows no smoke effects of that event. There is just the tiniest pair of hairline scratches, one beneath the donkey’s belly and one beneath his rear heel as these are 2 spots where the metal rubs when the donkey’s body moves by pulling the string. The piece o/w has outstanding paint with just the very tiniest traces of wear on the lower rim edge.
