Following the success of 1898 fair, local Omaha hotel, restaurant and saloon owners backed the 1899 re-opening of the fair now named the "Greater America Exposition." The original gathering of Indians for the Aug., 1898 "Congress" attracted many tribes plus the appearance of Apache prisoners, including Geronimo, from Fort Sill. Spectators watched tribes perform battle re-enactments. The 1899 exposition saw fewer tribes attending the Congress but Chief Red Cloud was there. Button includes moderately aged W&H back paper.
