Item Description
3.5x5.5" card signed "Very truly yours Dan Brouthers." Dan Brouthers was the first baseman of eight major league clubs and was apart of the original "Big Four" of Buffalo. He helped lead Detroit to its’ only National Championship in 1887. Played for the Troy Trojans from 1879-1880, Buffalo Bisons from 1881-1885, Detroit Wolverines from 1886-1888, Boston Beaneaters in 1889, Boston Reds in 1890-1891, Brooklyn Grooms in 1892-1893, Baltimore Orioles in 1894-1895, Louisville Colonels in 1895, Philadelphia Phillies in 1896 and the New York Giants in 1904. Dan Brouthers was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1945. Card has some light handling wear and some aging. Card was posted in an album/scrapbook at some point and has paper remnants and glue residue on back, none of which affect signature or inscription. Card is signed in blue ink and is very bold. Card is VF with an Exc. signature. Accompanying image is for catalog display purposes only. Comes with a letter of authenticity from Hake’s.
