Item Description
Basil Wolverton is one of the most loved artists of the Golden Age. His absurd take on human characteristics as well as his skewed view of the subject matter have endeared him to many, many collectors. This issue is chock-full of Wolverton art. While many value the art, Wolverton also had an incredible way with dialogue. He was capable of highly sophisticated word play as well as just out-right silliness. The character had been appearing regularly in Joker Comics when he finally got his own title. The title was published off and on until 1948. It lasted 5 issues. The pages are off-white. This unrestored book is CGC-certified 9.0 (VF/NM). According to the CGC Census this copy is tied with two others as the highest-graded copy they have seen. It is also recognized as belonging to the Crowley Pedigree.
