(Unrestored) Joe Simon gives this amazing Heroine a great cover for her first issue as a solo. It is simply the image of a happy woman on her motorcycle. The Black Cat had actually debuted in 1941 a few months before Wonder Woman first saw print. However, she never gained the exposure she deserved. For a brief period in the late forties, comic companies were introducing new female superheroes. Timely had the Blond Phantom (and a couple of others), DC introduced the Black Canary and Harvey finally gave a solid back-up character her own title. The book lasted 29 issues. As the taste of readers changed, the book became a mystery book and the Black Cat disappeared form her own title. She is remembered for both her secret identity as a Hollywood Star and the costume she wore. The pages are cream to off-white. This unrestored book is CGC-certified (5.0 VG/FN).
