Comes w/rare 8x11" letter titled "An Explanation - But Not An Apology" as letter concerns alterations made to the story for film purposes, and mentions "We Have Found It Necessary To Eliminate A Great Deal Of Gore; Blood Curdling Murders And Massacres May Be Described On The Cold Surface Of The Printed Page, But When Reproduced Photographically On The Realistic Screen, They Are A Bit Gruesome."
