Item Description
First an Olympic Athlete, than a movie star, Buster Crabbe built a career around his good looks and his tremendous athleticism. It helped that he was actually a good actor. From the get-go, America loved this guy. Even though he played Flash Gordon and a couple of other characters on the screen, he still built a highly individualistic identity with the public. As a comic feature, he had already appeared in Famous Funnies. He got his own title from Lev Gleason publishing and it lasted 4 issues. This issue, the last of the series, stands out because he is being portrayed as his most famous role, Flash Gordon. The pages are off-white. This unrestored book is CGC-certified 9.4 (NM). According to the CGC Census this is the highest graded copy they have seen. It is also recognized as being part of the Bethlehem Pedigree.
