Lois Lane had been with Superman since his first appearance in Action #1. Over twenty years later, the Superman TV show was gathering an entire new generation. The viewer ship had translated into a boost in sales of Superman titles. The secondary characters were so popular that DC decided to give one of them a solo try-out in their best-selling try-out book. Showcase had already proving to be a solid launching pad for the new version of the Flash as well as the Kirby-created Challengers of the Unknown. The results of the Showcase appearance were solid. About six months later, she was rewarded with her own book. Lois was the first character to appear in Showcase and than win her own title. Noted Superman artist Wayne Boring has created a cover that could serve as a synopsis of Lois’ adventures for the next 15 years or so. Lois gets in trouble and Superman shows up.
