First is 2.25" tall very nicely embossed brass badge intended for a 1930s child and probably issued by some radio program. The interesting part is that it includes a panel with serial number "8901" beneath the text "Junior G Men Of America." Typically these badges for children were not serially numbered. Minor luster loss. Rare. The following seven badges are 'official' in nature. They range from 1-1/8" tall to nearly 3" tall. Largely in brass or silvered brass with three that include enameling. First is inscribed "P.M. Kafka/Special Investigator." Minor silvering loss. Second is well made brass badge with State of Michigan seal at the center surrounded by text "John E. Connors/Wayne County/Deputy Sheriff." "T" hinge on back and appears to be c.1960s or earlier. Next is "Sheriff's N.Y. Deputies Assn." Upper left star arm missing small piece of enamel. Next reads "P.B.A/Hoboken 178/N.J." Next in embossed brass reads "Agent/New York/1917/Military Census." Next is very well made badge showing adult woman with spread arms above younger children she is protecting. Bottom panel reads "Investigator." Edges read "Board Of Child Welfare Of The City Of New York." Very minor silvering loss. Last is of a similar nature with bottom enamel panel reading "Investigator" followed by a numeral "2" while center enamel reads "City Of New York/Board Of Child Welfare."
