Auction #212 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 988 in auction 212
Item Description
2-3/8" diameter with front showing a group of runners. Design is close, but more detailed, to the 1964 fund raising medal designed by Kamekura Yusaka. The reverse of this piece shows the Olympic torch and rings with Japanese style lettering that reads "Olympia 1964." We think this medal is solid silver but there is a chance it could be merely plated. However, on the side rim edge is a tiny stamped number "1000." Trivial tarnish. Has nice rainbow patina around the front outer edge.
