Each of these is 7/8”. These have both W&H back papers as well as American Pepsin Gum back papers. Including the sub-sets of Generals and Athletes a total of 85 are known in this format. Of these 39, five have some stain, Gladstone has some faint craze lines and Sherman has a slight dent. Among the more famous names here are Napoleon Bonaparte, Greeley, Patrick Henry, Lafayette, Civil War Generals Logan, McClellan and Meade; Shakespeare, Generals Sheridan and Sherman; both Cornelius and William Vanderbilt, Prince of Wales, Webster and William II Emperor of Germany. 32 are Exc.
