Item Description
Large and very heavy brass and enamel badge 4-5/8” tall. Top enamel panel names “Battle Creek, Mich. B.P.O.E. No. 131.” Suspended below is large brass piece with Elk’s clock logo and elk head emerging from the brass top of a figural box design with two panels in white enamel. Front reads “We Feed The World With Cereal Food” while right side shows wheat plant. Surrounding are small images and text highlighting products from Detroit with blue enamel panel at bottom “Detroit-1910.” Depicted are images with the words “Steam Pumps/Printing Presses/Threshing Machines.” Minor luster loss mostly from the hanger. Most impressive and the first we’ve seen. The cereal reference relates to the breakfast food businesses of Kellogg’s and Post both founded in Battle Creek.
