Item Description
Each of these is 7/8”. All have a back paper naming Wm. F. Miller along with W&H Co. patent dates. There are 23 birds pictured in this set although with minor varieties noted in Hake’s Buttons In Sets there could be as many as 38 different if punctuation styles are counted. The four birds missing from this group are: Blue Bunting, Fan Tail Pigeon, Game Rooster, Sea Gull. The 19 in this group are all extremely clean and with high gloss with the exception of “Blue Jay” which has dark dots on outer perimeter. The earliest button set issued featuring birds.
