6.25" tall (10.5" tall to top of upright handle) tin litho sand pail made in Great Britain by Happynak, 1930s. © King Features Syndicate. Pail has "British Made" pressed text on underside. One of just two Happynak Popeye sand pails we know of, the other being smaller 5" size w/different art (we have only offered the smaller variety once in our 58 years). This larger example features great scene of Popeye, Olive Oyl and Swee'Pea, Wimpy and Poopdeck Pappy running along. Pail even shows Eugene the Jeep running alongside them. Dent to top rim by seam. Pail exterior and interior as well as handle show obvious aging/wear w/all over pitting and scattered oxidation. Just Good overall. These Happynak Popeye pails are much rarer than their Disney pails, this being the first we've offered of this larger variety in our 58 years. While this piece certainly shows its age, this is a case where rarity outweighs condition.
