5.25x6.5" leatherbound "Autographs" album by Samuel Ward Mfg. Co. features autographs and original art collected by/for Shirley Temple (1928-2014) during her time as a child star in the mid-late 1930s and into the early 1940s. Book has been signed/illustrated by - Ernest Belcher (1882-1973), Temple's dance director. Belcher has added rudimentary sketches of ballet dancers, surrounding his signature; Dick Huemer (1898-1979), longtime Disney animator who helped pitch Dumbo to Walt Disney. Huemer has added mixed media original art image of Donald Duck; Norm Ferguson (1902-1957), Disney animator noted for his contribution to the creation of Pluto, Peg-Leg Pete and the Big Bad Wolf, whom Ferguson has added a colored pencil and blue ink original art sketch of; Al Taliaferro (1905-1969), Disney comics artist best known for his work on the Donald Duck comic strip. Taliaferro has added a nicely inked/painted image of Mickey Mouse; Fred Moore (1911-1952), Disney animator closely associated with Mickey Mouse and principal animator on The Three Little Pigs, added mixed media original art sketch of the Pigs; Bill Tytla (1904-1968), Disney animator known for his work on Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs <

Campbell added detailed red pencil portrait of Snow White; Les Clark (1907-1979), Disney animator (the first of Disney's Nine Old Men) who became Mickey Mouse's official animator in 1930, also working on Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Alice In Wonderland, Peter Pan as well as Lady And The Tramp. Clark added detailed mixed media original art sketch of Disney's Clara Cluck; Murray Griffin, Disney animator, added mixed media original art sketch of Abner Countrymouse from Silly Symphonies The Country Cousin; Art Babbitt (1907-1992), Disney animator best known for developing Goofy. Babbitt added mixed media original art sketch of Goofy, adding "I'm Sure Goofy About Yuh - Shirley" before signing Goofy's name and adding "Alias Bab Bitt" moniker; James Montgomery Flagg (1877-1960), best known for his "I Want You For U.S. Army" Uncle Sam World War I recruitment poster. Flagg has added pencil sketch of young woman that appears to be Temple. Earlier in the album, there is a nice full color original art sketch of Temple dancing with Arthur Prince, who has signed page. This is followed by a rough pencil sketch of cartoon character "Designed By Shirley." Later in the album, one page features a detailed and whimsical pencil and watercolor original art portrait of Temple by Dorothy Doran Williams. There is one additional mixed media original art sketch of a Temple-like ballet dancer a few pages later, but this is unsigned. Album shows some lt. spine wear and inner binding is loose from cover at spine but pages remain stapled in place as produced (staples exhibit rust soiling).
