Item Description
7.5x19-7/8" Craftint artboard has pen and ink original art for Jan. 24, 1968 Batman daily strip. Art bears "Bob Kane" artist signature, but it is well known that Kane did not actually work on these strips, instead this story was written by Whitney Ellsworth (1908-1980) w/art by Joe Giella (1928-2023) at this point in time. Strip features three panels, showing Robin confronting pilot on airstrip, only to be shocked at the pilot’s identity - Blue Max - who was presumed dead. Ledger Syndicate, Inc. distribution strip between first and second panels, NPP copyright strip between second and third. Top left has "87 Wednesday" notation in red marker and bottom margin is uneven as trimmed. Art remains clean and Exc.
