No. 1140 at 29¢ w/128 pages featuring three stories w/villians (Masked Fugitive, Penguin and Blockbuster) and No. 1032 at 39¢ w/60 abbreviated pages and omitting the Penguin story. Both are ©1966 N.P.P. Front cover on No. 1140 has inked note at top reading "Job #A-27786," indicating it as a Whitman file copy. Lt. aging/handling wear and a few thumb creases. Pages remain unused and lightly aged. Fine/VF overall. Includes a color file proof for Whitman Crayons back cover ad and a pink plate room order sheet w/"Big Rush" in pencil at bottom. Next is13.5x16.5" Bainbridge artboard w/original cover art and handcolored background images w/paste-up logo and text for the Batman coloring book cover. This comes w/a separate thin artboard w/paste-up layout bond cover color guide for Batman figure and logo. There is also a small aged acetate overlay w/logo and text and some loose stats. Artboard shows lt. aging/handling wear and is Exc. Color guide is aged w/tears and tape. Good. Rest of lot includes original art for 79 total pages. Pages are hand numbered for multiple usages in different coloring books making for duplicate page numbers. There is no title page or first 5 pages for either edition. Multiple pages include Batman, Robin, The Masked Fugitive, The Penguin and Blockbuster. Pages are mounted along with text at bottom to multiple thin boards w/clipped corners for production use to shoot to make printer's film and printing plates. Art has lt. aging/wear as expected but is Exc. This is an extensive lot of art but is not complete for either edition. Scarce and unique, especially w/cover included.
