All four Cuban professional baseball teams were represented in this rare series: Almendares, Habana, Marianao and Cienfuegos. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that this Minnie Minoso piece has been offered at auction. This amazing Cuban baseball treasure pre-dates all of Minnie’s U.S. issued rookie cards, all released during the 1952 MLB season. Minoso was a superstar for the New York Cubans of the U.S. Negro Leagues throughout the mid-late 1940s before debuting w/the MLB Chicago White Sox as well as spending a number of his peak seasons with the Cleveland Indians.
