Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid label contains 7" tall celluloid Betty Boop figure mounted on 2.5" dia. painted tin base (see matching Micky Mouse boxed toy in this auction). Made in Japan, c. 1930s. Box label features image of toy w/"Betty-Boop Des. & Copyright By Fleischer Studios - Made In Japan" text. Box has inward warping of side panels w/resulting creases and lid shows some corner tip wear and staple rusting. Label is complete, evenly aged and Exc. Box is VF overall. Figure's separate celluloid head is mounted to nodding mechanism w/attached counter-weight. Underside of base has wire/rubberband winder mechanism. Missing rubberband, toy no longer winds but can be manually manipulated to nod. Celluloid has no dents/cracks and is Exc. overall. Classic toy for this iconic 1930s character.
