Item Description
28.75x52" deep by 75.25" tall, backboard measures 28.75x28-5/8x10" deep. Released in Sept. 1996 by Midway Manufacturing Company under the Bally name. Designed by Dennis Nordman and Mark Weyna w/art by Greg Freres, game depicts Cassandra Peterson's voluptuous horror host Elvira w/a B-movie horror theme. Both Nordman and Freres worked on Elvira's 1989 pinball - Elvira And The Party Monsters (see previous lot). Gameplay is further enhanced by speech calls by Elvira herself, recorded by Peterson. DMD display and mechanical backbox animation includes spider that spins around when ball falls into playfield trap. Pressing a flipper button stops the spider and awards the indicated feature. Gameplay includes "Six Tales Of Terror" that can be selected - "Night Of The Leapers, Return Of The Dead Heads, Terror From The Crate, The Monster's Lab, Eyes Of The Bony Beast" and "The Stiff In The Coffin." Game features include - two flippers and three pop bumpers. This model was designed to have light-up feature for Skull Pile at upper right, but this was removed before productions run began. The example offered here has been modified to restore this design feature. Rubber "Boogie Men" kickers were also designed to shake, but feature was also removed before production. Sides of cabinet feature coffin-like crate and cabinet, backboard and playfield feature many toungue-in-cheek easter eggs. Cabinet shows scattered wear to backboard w/.75x1.75" surface ship to back left bottom corner. Front left corner has black paint touch-up. Backboard is Fine overall. Backglass has three tiny paint flakes; at Elvira's shoulders and top of her boufant hairdo. Backglass is VF/Exc. Cabinet and playfield display Exc.
