Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid label contains 7.25" tall celluloid toy w/built-in key on back and long wire metal tail. Raised "Made In Japan" text on Mickey's back along w/Disney copyright. 1930s. These toys came in one of two different boxes; one fully illustrated and in full color, listing toy as "Mickey Mouse Walker" and the version offered here, which features just a lid lable noting toy as "Mickey Mouse Rambling" w/illustration of just the toy within in full color and bi-color bkg. Label notes "Made In Japan" and bears 1934 copyright as well as noting distribution by Geo. Borgfeldt Corp. Lid label shows some dust soiling and right side panel has 1" tear. Box exhibits corner tip wear and one corner of box has some heavy creasing w/.75" split at bottom corner. Box o/w retains its shape and remains VG overall.

Toy design features Mickey w/arms jointed at shoulder and attached by elastic string (which would benefit from re-stringing). Mickey's pants have small, evenly aged paper inspection sticker on side. Toy works and his legs move back and forth rapidly as his body rambles about. When stationary, his tail serves as a prop to keep him upright for display. Tiny paint flake to one button on front of pants. Some scattered lt. aging but toy is free of any cracks/dents and is Fine overall. Rare. Philip Samuels Collection.
