Item Description
8" tall tin litho w/built-in key on back. Among the earliest Disney wind-ups. Made in Germany, c.1930. Toy works and shakes about as it walks forward. Rubber tail has been replaced, but all else is original. White portions of toy (face, hands and pants buttons) have darkened w/age. Mickey's red pants shows some scattered lt, wear w/slight fade on behind. The separate die-cut tin ears each have tiny hole along edge, purpose unknown. Toy shows scattered spots of paint wear while small spot of surface oxidation on back of head. VG overall. One of the rarest Mickey Mouse wind-up tin toys, w/only a few known examples, and some of those have replaced ears/arms. Philip Samuels Collection.
