Item Description
3x6x8" tall tin litho toy w/built-in key. Made in Germany by Distler, c.1930. The large Mickey Mouse figure is attached to and pushes a street organ that features multiple images of him. Separate small Minnie Mouse figure on a metal rod is attached to the top of the street organ. This Minnie figure is usually missing. The example offered here has replacement arms. Mickey has replaced left arm and spring tail. All replacements were professionally made and match the overall aging/condition of the toy. Toy works and as Mickey turns the crank, Minnie figure dances and musical notes are produced. Toy retains strong color and shows scattered tiny paint nicks/scratches w/trace oxidation to Mickey figure's ears and scattered oxidation to Minnie figure. Some small spots/streaks of bare metal showing on Mickey figure and toy's wheels. Displays Fine overall. Rare wind-up and one of the most coveted 1930s Disney toys. Philip Samuels Collection.
