Item Description
From same set as the previous two lots. Sam Crawford began his MLB career at the turn of the Century, joining the Cincinnati Reds in 1899 and spending his first four seasons there before moving on to Detroit where he would star w/Ty Cobb in the Tigers outfield for the next 15 seasons. Crawford posted career totals of .309 batting average to go along w/97 homers, 1,523 RBI’s, 1,391 runs scored and 367 stolen bases. Inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1957. At time of cataloging, PSA pop report indicates that this is one of only five examples graded at this level w/only five others ever graded higher.
