Pair of 4.25" to 4.5" tall solid cast metal figures w/painted features. Made in England in 1934, underside of Mickey's foot is marked "Desmo." (featured on page 434 of Hake's Disney Guide; Second Edition). Both feature superb and expressive poses, Mickey stands w/hands on hips while Minnie holds her arms away from her body. Both sport wide open mouths, their tails curled upward behind them. Both a rare and we have only seen a few of these in our 58 years, and of those not all have been exactly the same. Differences include different paint variations and some w/bulbous noses. Regarding the pair offered here, they do not have bulbous noses and could have been cast that way. We believe these to be as produced but cannot say for 100% certainty. Scattered traces of wear, w/two tiny 1/16" spots of bare metal showing on Mickey's snout and small 1/8" spot of bare metal showing on Minnie's cheek. Still very gloosy w/stong color and 98% paint remaining. VF overall and make for wonderful display. Among the rarest and most sought after 1930s Disneyana.
