Item Description
13.75x21.75" thin cardboard window card for "Dracula-The World Famous Vampire Thriller." Card is for Ford's Theatre and was printed by Golden Posters. States performances beginning Nov. 5, 1928. This is Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston's dramatical treatment of Bram Stoker's classic story. Given the date, Count Dracula was likely played by Raymond Huntley as Bela Lugosi was playing the role on Broadway. Card features gruesome image of Dracula w/bat wing ears and reptilian features, complete w/sharp fangs and drooling mouth. Bears New York Herald-Tribune testimonial that reads "Better Than 'The Bat'." Lt. handling wear, staple holes at corners and side middle margins which show some wear. Upper right corner has 1x1.5" corner off which has been professionally repaired, repair being near-invisible. As is, card displays VF-. Great early image associated w/Dracula.
