Themes include well-dressed woman in open air car on circular track in arena, car flipping over in midair as crowd watches with ink note at bottom to recipient "Dear Florence The Auto Made Three Turns While It Is In The Air Margaret", pair of cars which apparently have run into each other at end of aerial track with spectators looking on in background, and mechanic on indoor wooden track working on car with parts nearby. One is postally used, o/w all four are Fine/VF. Next three cards are c. 1920s. First has high flying trapeze artist above crowd on city street with small inset photo of him. Reverse has ink text "Harry Rich And His Death Defying Trapeze Act. Monmouth Fall Festival." With additional pencil text noting "Town Is In Illinois". VF. Next shows man and woman standing in front of round wire cage with bicycle nearby and Ferris wheel in bkg. Card is dust soiled and a bit faded. VG. Final card shows knifethrower in cowboy outfit with knife in his belt standing next to woman who has arms outstretched against board with 16 knives surrounding her body. Back has small ink stamp "S & D Co. High Street W". Slightest trace of wear around extreme edges otherwise VF. Wonderful images of death defying acts.
