Created by C.C. Beck and Bill Parker, the character was almost an immediate success. During this time in America, spies and saboteurs were among the most despised villains you could imagine. The character first showed up in the very first issue of Whiz Comics. That issue was a goldmine for Fawcett. It saw the debut of not only the Spy Smasher, but Ibis, Golden Arrow and Captain Marvel. The character quickly jumped into movies. He was the second character, the first being his stable-mate Captain Marvel, to get his own serial. His title lasted eleven issues and was canceled in 1943. He continued appearing in other Fawcett- published anthologies, but hasn’t been seen since 1947. The pages are cream to off-white. This unrestored book is CGC-certified 9.2 (NM-). According to the CGC Census this is the second-highest graded copy they have seen. It is also recognized as being part of the Rockford Pedigree.
